Mountain flower hike to the Alp Sigel
Brülisau, Pfannenstil – Alp Sigel (railroad) – Chüeboden – Plattenbödeli – Brülisau, Pfannenstil
The hike starts at the parking lot next to the valleystation of the Alp-Sigel gondola. A gondola takes you comfortably up to the alp. Pause for a moment before setting off and enjoy the gigantic panoramic view: in the south you can see the Staubern, Staubernkanzel, Hochhüser, Amboss and, as the end of the Südkette, the imposing rocky peaks of the Kreuzberge, with the Vorarlberg, St. Gallen and Bündner mountains in the background. Towards the west rise the Widderalpstöcke, Hundstein, Altmann and the unique Säntis massif. For the descent you hike via Chüeboden to Plattenbödeli. There you reach the Sämtisersee, one of the three mountain lakes in the Alpstein. This is followed by a steep descent through the Brüeltobel past the Hexenwäldli.

Wasserauen – Seealpsee – Unterstrich – Meglisalp – Widderalpsattel – Bollenwees at the Fählensee – Sämtisersee – Plattenbödeli – Brülisau
The three precious gems of the Alpstein united in a breathtaking natural scenery during a moderately difficult day hike. From Wasserauen you hike along the Schwendibach and climb up to the Seealpsee. At the end of the lake, the path leads up to the left to the Meglisalp alpine dairy. On a steep path you climb up to the Widderalpsattel. The descent via the Widderalp is pleasant. Embedded between the steep rocky flanks of the Hundstein in the north, the Altmann in the west and the Kreuzberge in the south, the almost black water of the Fählensee is enchanting. Going down the valley, the trail leads along good roads to the Sämtiser lake. As with the Fählensee, there is no outflow to be seen here. The water of both lakes flows underground and emerges again in the Rhine valley. After a short counterclimb, the route descends steeply through the mystical Brüeltobel to Brülisau.
